Ms. Caroline Castaing, Head of Outreach and General Communications at the Communications Department, AFD – Agence Française de Développement

A strategic thinker and communicator developing and bringing meaningful contents through conferences, defining communication strategies, speech writing, editorial strategy and teaching. Her previous experiences involved work in the corporate world, communication agency as well as non-profits.

Mr. Mehdi Achour, Editor, Partnerships and Civil Society Department, French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

After studying political science, Mehdi Achour worked in NGOs on volunteership and development education programs. He joined the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in 2018. Among his responsibilities is the Ministry’s Global Education portfolio – called Education for Development and International Solidarity (EADSI). Mehdi’s work involves strengthening the capacity of NGOs in this field, as well as the grant applications submitted to the AFD (Agence Française de Développement).

This workshop facilitates a reflection on the needs for a more strategic alignment of Global Education and awareness raising that would lead to a strengthened public opinion and public engagement on global issues.
